Grid-tied systems
(PV only)
These systems transform the electricity produced by solar panels into usable electricity for the home or business. The energy is converted by an inverter and used directly, without being stored in batteries.
Hybrid systems
(PV + Battery)
This system combines solar panels and a battery, while remaining connected to the grid.
The electricity produced is used primarily in the house. Any surplus is stored in the battery for later use (for example, at night).
In the event of a power outage, the battery can continue to power certain appliances. This allows for greater autonomy and better energy savings.
